Job description

Ste-Marie Chevrolet Buick GMC Corvette is seeking an experienced senior Technical Advisor, solution-oriented and customer service-focused, to strengthen our GM technical and sales team.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Act as a technical reference and primary contact for service and sales teams regarding GM vehicles (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Corvette).
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems on GM vehicles, using technical bulletins (TSB), electronic diagnostics, and GM tools.
  • Share knowledge of GM procedures, updates, and fixes with the team, and train technicians and advisors.
  • Assist during test drives and present technical solutions to customers to facilitate purchasing and service decisions.
  • Support planning of preventive maintenance and service campaigns, and ensure proper execution of repairs.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to ensure the availability of genuine GM parts and optimize turnaround times.
  • Contribute to compliance of work with GM’s quality, warranty, and safety standards.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of technical processes, tools, and investigation methods.
  • Provide technical support during the sales process by explaining technical aspects and clarifying GM warranties and options.
  • Supervise and mentor colleagues to develop their technical skills and product knowledge of GM vehicles.

Minimum requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with General Motors (GM) products.
  • Technical or college diploma in automotive mechanics or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of GM systems (engine, electronics, transmissions, safety, and connectivity).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluent in French; technical English is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
