Context and Mandate
This research is confidential. We are recruiting for the position of Parts Manager, based in Châteauguay, Quebec. You will lead the parts department and play a key role in inventory management, procurement, purchasing, and after-sales service for our automotive sector business.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and oversee the parts department strategy: stock management, forecasting, reordering, and cost optimization.
- Lead, train, and develop the parts team; provide supervision, autonomy, and performance management.
- Supervise purchasing and relationships with suppliers and distributors; negotiate terms and monitor supplier performance.
- Manage all operational processes: receiving, warehousing, order preparation, and shipping, ensuring quality and safety.
- Analyze performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for management; identify and implement continuous improvement actions.
- Collaborate with other departments (production, sales, after-sales) to ensure parts availability and delivery deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Participate in the development and control of the parts department budget; optimize resources and investments.
Desired Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or related field.
- Experience: a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in parts management, logistics, or in the automotive environment.
- Leadership and team management skills; ability to motivate and develop talent.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management tools; knowledge of an ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and MS Office tools.
- Excellent communication, organization, analysis, and problem-solving skills; customer service mindset and results-oriented.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and prioritize operational issues; bilingual French/English preferred.
