Body shop estimator is responsible for assessing damages to accident-damaged vehicles, preparing accurate repair cost estimates, and providing professional customer service throughout the claims process.
Main Responsibilities
- Inspect damaged vehicles and identify necessary repairs
- Prepare detailed estimates (parts, labor, paint)
- Use estimation software (e.g., Audatex, Mitchell)
- Communicate with insurance companies
- Explain repairs and costs to clients
- Follow up on files and ongoing repairs
- Collaborate with technicians and parts department
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and deadlines
Requirements
- Experience in auto estimation or bodywork (a major asset)
- Knowledge of repair processes and insurance procedures
- Proficiency with computer tools and estimation software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
Qualifications
- Diploma in bodywork or equivalent experience (an asset)
- Valid driver’s license
Salary: Starting from $27/hour depending on experience
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
