Job description

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman / Supervisor to join Desjardins Ford Saint-Laurent, a Ford dealership accessible on Marcel-Laurin Boulevard, north of Montreal. You will ensure the smooth operation of the workshop, oversee a team of technicians, and ensure a first-class customer experience while complying with Ford standards and safety requirements.

Job Description

  • Supervise daily workshop activities, plan and delegate tasks, and optimize repair times.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the team of technicians and apprentices; foster skill development and versatility.
  • Control the quality of interventions, ensure repairs comply with Ford procedures and warranties.
  • Work closely with the parts department and service advisors to ensure parts availability and effective communication with customers.
  • Monitor performance indicators (productivity, turnaround times, rework rates) and take corrective action if necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and CNESST regulations; promote a safety culture within the workshop.
  • Prepare and verify work sheets, repair reports, and customer feedback; promote a smooth and transparent customer experience.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving after-sales service performance goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising a workshop, ideally in an automobile dealership or mechanical workshop.
  • Technical diploma in auto mechanics or equivalent experience; Ford or automotive certifications are an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills; ability to motivate and develop talent.
  • Knowledge of Ford warranty procedures and service standards; understanding of safety requirements (CNESST).
  • Ability to quickly solve problems, prioritize, and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Fluent in French; English is an asset.
  • Availability to work according to service hours; flexible based on operational needs.
