Mechanic / Technician (Apprentice)

We are recruiting a Mechanic / Technician (Apprentice) to join the dedicated team at Gareau AUTOPRO, a recognized auto repair shop in Gatineau (Aylmer). The position requires at least 1 year of experience and offers the opportunity to progress within an environment focused on quality, service, and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (oil, filters, tires, brakes, etc.) and carry out repairs according to industry standards.
• Read and interpret diagrams, diagnostic reports, and technical manuals.
• Communicate clearly with customers about necessary repairs, estimates, and timelines.
• Work collaboratively with two technicians and a technical advisor to ensure efficient and safe interventions.
• Adhere to safety procedures, cleanliness standards, and manage parts and waste.

Profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a mechanic/technician position; apprentice status accepted.
• Good knowledge of automotive systems and components, and ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to work in a team, team spirit, and concern for customer satisfaction.
• Rigor, autonomy, and a service-oriented mindset; excellent work ethic and adherence to quality standards.
• Fluent in French; English is an asset.
• Interest in hybrid/electric vehicles is preferred and can be developed through training.
