Mechanic / Technician (Apprentice)

Job Description Fortier Ford, a new dealership of the GENX Automotive group located in Montreal-Est, is seeking a Mechanic / Technician (Apprentice) to join its dynamic team. This position focused on learning and professional development is aimed at a motivated individual looking to enhance their technical skills in a modern and structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles according to OEM standards and internal procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance, routine mechanical and electrical repairs (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electronics, diagnostics with specialized tools).
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and operational procedures.
• Ensure quality work and meet deadlines while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and the after-sales team.
• Accurately document interventions, complete work orders, and track parts used.
• Follow safety rules, hygiene standards, and internal policies.

Profile / Qualifications

• Course diploma in automotive mechanics or equivalent ongoing training, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role considered an asset (apprenticeship accepted).
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostics, ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Good understanding of technical diagrams and repair procedures.
• Team spirit, customer service orientation, and a willingness to learn.
• Fluent in French; technical English is an asset.
• Valid driver's license.
• Availability for flexible hours and summer schedules.
