Controller

Horizon Group, based in Brossard, Quebec, is seeking a young and motivated Controller to join its finance team. Responsibilities

• Oversee financial control activities and monthly/quarterly closings, with particular attention to deadlines and the accuracy of reports.
• Prepare financial statements and variance analyses; contribute to the development of management reporting and reports for management.
• Manage reconciliations, accounts, and consolidations, as well as coordinate with operational departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Participate in the budgeting process and forecasts, analyze variances, and propose corrective measures.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls; optimize accounting processes and information flows.
• Work closely with the sales, after-sales, and inventory departments to ensure rigorous valuation and tracking of stocks.
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal standards and policies.

Profile sought

• University degree in accounting; CPA is an asset but not necessarily required upon entry.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting or control role; experience in dealerships is a plus, but we prioritize internal training and adaptation to our practices.
• Strong analytical skills, rigor, discretion, and a sense of ethics; excellent team spirit and good communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer tools and accounting/ERP software; advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of applicable accounting principles; English is a plus, fluent French is required.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and prioritize responsibilities according to objectives.
