Mechanic / Technician

Garage R. Ethier & Fils is looking for an experienced mechanic to join our dynamic team!
Our business, a family workshop in its third generation, is expanding rapidly and we are seeking someone experienced and ready to take on new challenges with us.
Our company mainly specializes in the repair of commercial vehicles, primarily North American brands.

** Tasks and responsibilities:

• Know how to accurately diagnose a problem and assess the necessary components for repair;
• Perform maintenance and repair of gasoline, hybrid/electric, and diesel-powered vehicles (cars, vans, and medium-duty trucks);
• Skills to work on various vehicle systems, regardless of manufacturer (injection, electrical, air conditioning, etc.);
• Skills to diagnose and repair the internals of an engine/differential/transmission (an asset);
• Inform the service advisor if additional work needs to be done, if the described work is not necessary, or if repairs cannot be carried out;
• Interest in continuous education and improving knowledge;
• Maintain your workspace;
• Organizational skills;
• Attention to detail and precision;
• Punctuality;
• Honesty and reliability;
• Ability to work independently.

** Working conditions:

• Permanent full-time position;
• Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
• Guaranteed work all year round;
• Air-conditioned workshop;
• No seasonal tire changes in the workshop;
• Competitive salary based on experience;
• Ongoing training provided by the employer;
• Uniforms washed and safety boots provided;
• Nespresso coffee supplied, meal area (oven, kettle, microwave, fridge, water dispenser).

** Requirements:

• Own tool chest;
• Valid class 5 driver’s license;
• DEP in automotive or heavy vehicle mechanics;
• CPA journeyman card;
• Relevant work experience related to the position;
• Having a halocarbon certification would be an asset;
• Experience with trucks/diesel would be an asset;
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment to perform research independently and complete work.
