Automotive Mechanic – Journeyman Job Description We are looking for an experienced automotive mechanic to work on light and commercial vehicles. This is a stable position offering a wide variety of repair and maintenance tasks. Main Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems of vehicles. • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer guidelines and quality standards. • Read and interpret diagrams and diagnostics; utilize workshop tools and equipment. • Document interventions and prepare reports; communicate results to clients and supervisors. • Explain the general condition of the vehicle and upcoming repairs to the customer. • Follow safety procedures and warranty requirements; keep the workshop clean and organized. • Assist apprentice mechanics in developing their skills as needed. • Replace suspension, steering, and brake parts. • Install, rotate, and balance tires. Diagnose and program TPMS sensors. • Conduct a road test after each intervention. Job Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years of experience. • Post-secondary diploma in automotive mechanics or equivalent. • CPA (Journeyman) competency card required. • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions. • French fluency (spoken and written). • Knowledge of English (spoken and written) — an asset. • Knowledge of electric vehicles (an asset).
