Preparateur-painter / finisher

Job Description CARSTAR Laval Ste-Rose, a recognized player in automotive repair and finishing, is seeking a motivated and meticulous Paint Prepper / Finisher to strengthen its workshop. You will work alongside a dedicated team to restore damaged vehicles while adhering to quality standards and deadlines. Note that the company is closed on weekends, offering better work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting: sanding, masking, dusting, and decontamination.
• Apply base coats, varnishes, and finishes according to technical specifications and color matches.
• Mix colors, adjust shades, and perform minor touch-ups for a uniform finish.
• Control the quality of work, check color consistency and absence of defects, and correct as necessary.
• Work in coordination with the bodywork team to ensure alignment and precision of finishes.
• Follow safety procedures, environmental standards, and workshop guidelines.
• Keep the workshop clean and tools in good working condition; document work performed as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum experience: 1 year in a similar automotive prepper/finisher position.
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, masking, and finishing; ability to mix colors and read technical sheets.
• Proficiency with painting tools and equipment (guns, spray booths, products, etc.).
• Attention to detail, quality-consciousness, and strong organizational skills.
• Team spirit and good communication skills; ability to work in a dynamic workshop environment.
• Respect for safety standards and ability to stand for long periods.
