Kia Gabriel West, an authorized Kia dealership in Montreal, Quebec, is seeking a qualified mechanic/technician to join our service team. In a modern and well-organized environment, you will perform maintenance and repair work on new Kia vehicles as well as used stock, ensuring high-quality service in line with our commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, and HVAC) according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine service efficiently and accurately.
- Use OEM diagnostic tools, software, and electrical schematics to identify problems and guide repairs.
- Conduct road tests to verify repairs and ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
- Document all work performed in the diagnostic and service management system; communicate results to service advisors and, if necessary, to customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; adhere to all safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; mentor junior technicians if needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience as an auto technician/mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with diagnostic tools and electrical systems.
- In-depth knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems of modern vehicles.
- Ability to read repair manuals, service bulletins, and electrical schematics; interpret diagnostic results and translate them into effective repairs.
- Valid driver's license; ability to handle manual and electrical tools as well as shop equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; fluency in French required (English is a plus).
- Certifications or formal training in automotive service are an asset.
