At Communauto, we manage North America's largest car-sharing service. Behind each available vehicle, there is a fleet to maintain in pristine condition and technical issues that are beyond the ordinary.

We are looking for a journeyman mechanic for our Monk garage: someone with several years of experience, eager to apply their expertise to diagnose and repair the most complex problems, without the responsibility of sales or customer relations.

Your daily role

• You are the technical reference of the workshop. Specifically, you will:
• Perform advanced diagnostics (mechanical, electrical, electronic)
• Carry out complex repairs: engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes, ABS systems
• Work on embedded electronic systems (OBD2, CAN bus, ADAS)
• Repair air conditioning systems
• Maintain and repair vehicles and vans in the fleet
• Ensure interventions meet technical and safety standards
• Identify recurring technical issues and suggest improvement ideas
• Act as a technical resource when needed for cases submitted by the team
• You report to the Workshop Manager at Monk Garage.

What we are looking for:

• 8 to 10 years of significant automotive mechanic experience, including handling complex cases
• DEP in automotive mechanics or equivalent recognized training
• Competency card (qualification certificate) from the CPA region, when applicable
• Valid driver's license (Class 5)
• Valid halocarbon (air conditioning) certification
• Knowledge of electric and hybrid vehicles (asset)
• Rigor, judgment, and composure under pressure
• Pride in well-executed work
• Team spirit and clear, professional communication
• Bilingual in French and English
