Shop Foreman / Supervisor

Fortier Ford, a new dealership of the GENX automotive group located in East Montreal, is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor / Supervisor to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all workshop activities and coordinate technicians and assistants to ensure operational efficiency, adherence to deadlines, and quality repairs.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, safety standards, and work standards; lead quality controls and technical inspections.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate team members; manage schedules, leave requests, and staffing needs; foster a positive and service-oriented work environment.
• Work closely with service advisors and the reception team to ensure a high-level customer experience and clearly communicate delays or solutions.
• Oversee parts and tools management, optimize workflow, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in preventive maintenance activities and assist with major technical interventions as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or workshop management experience in the automotive sector (dealership or workshop); experience in an OEM environment is an asset.
• Proven leadership, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of service; capable of motivating and developing a team.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repairs, proficiency with workshop management software, and ability to read technical diagrams.
• Organization, time management, and the ability to make quick decisions in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent in French; functional English is an asset.
• Technical training in automotive mechanics or equivalent diploma; training in team or operational management is desirable.
