Job description
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of road transport truck systems
- Confirm the results with the supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace the unit
- Discuss the work with the supervisor
- Inspect and test mechanical elements to locate defects and imperfections
- Inspect mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions
- Review work instructions
- Perform road tests on motor vehicles
- Test automotive systems and components
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts or elements of various vehicle systems
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of heavy truck systems
- Repair or replace mechanical elements or components
- Test repaired systems and adjust them according to manufacturer specifications
- Perform periodic maintenance operations
- Test and adjust elements according to specifications
- Fill out reports to record defects and work performed
- Supervise apprentices and teach them the trade
